Dr. Christopher Jones, Director of Liver Transplantation and Division Chief of the Division of Transplantation, is a surgeon with The Trager Transplant Center at Jewish Hospital. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery, Department of Surgery at the University of Louisville. In addition, Dr. Jones serves on the Transplant Performance Improvement Steering Committee and Medical Operating Committee, Medical Executive Committee and Transplant Executive Committee at Jewish Hospital, among others.
Dr. Jones received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Dr. Jones completed his internship and residency at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and then went on to complete research and three fellowships at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the Nestlé Nutrition Institute.
Dr. Jones is a member of many professional societies, including the American Colleges of Surgeons, International Liver Transplant Society and United Network for Organ Sharing, among others. He received numerous awards and recognitions, including the New Practitioner Award from the Medical Practice Section of ASPEN and the Best Research Project Award from the National Medical Association.
