First US Hand Transplant Patient Continues to Recover at Jewish Hospital

(Louisville, Kentucky) -- Matt Scott, 37, the first hand transplant patient in the United States continues to recover on schedule at Jewish Hospital. "Matt's hand looks good, his rehab is on schedule and his attitude remains positive," explained Jon Jones, M.D., Jewish Hospital and University of Louisville transplant surgeon, "Due to his rigorous rehab schedule and routine testing, Matt is naturally tired. Everything Matt is experiencing is completely normal for any transplant patient. Time not dedicated to activities necessary for his recovery need to be spent on total rest and relaxation." With rest and relaxation in mind, the highlight of Matt's next few days will be spending time with Dawn, Matt's wife, and his two children.
